Artist Statement

I agree with Theodore Roethke who wrote, “The dark has its own light.” No matter what I am confronted with, the process of drawing and painting allows me to transcend the experience and reach beyond it. I always see the good in people and the glass, "half full."

The colors of the sky reflected on the water, the faces of angels and the enlightened, trees, flowers, land and seascapes, rural farms, animals - These have a timeless, tranquil quality and an inner light which I like to reveal through my painting.
